In my photographs, you're the subject, not the object.

26phi is a photographer based in Tokyo and Taipei, shooting live music, portraits and the street.

It started because I was in a band myself. Shooting film was everywhere back then, and friends talked me into it. Then one night at a show I met a veteran of the scene who loved the way my film looked — and from then on, little by little, I started shooting live performances.

At a show, what I want to catch most is the moment everyone on stage burns and shines. While the music plays, everyone seems to become one shared body, and I love that feeling.

In portraits, I want people to look like themselves: not a product for someone to consume, not an object, but the subject.
